Marlene Louella Coose

Marlene Louella (Scotvold) Coose, of Lockwood, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 88.
She was born on May 29, 1936 in Philip, South Dakota, to Ludwig and Johanna (Bauer) Scotvold.
Marlene married Enoch Junior Coose on November 8, 1958. They were married for 56 years until his passing on September 2, 2015.
They met in Springfield, Missouri, while Marlene was attending Burge School of Nursing. She worked for Cox Hospital and Junior worked for Gillioz Construction Company.
In September of 1959, they moved to a farm west of Lockwood, Missouri, where Junior began farming and Marlene continued working as a nurse for Dr. Christensen in Golden City, Missouri, for many years. On their farm, they raised two children, Mike Coose and Leasa Coose.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, and freezing produce from the garden. Marlene also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She made many beautiful quilts, piecing and quilting by hand. Her quilting frame was made by Junior.
Marlene gifted many of her handmade items, especially afghans for babies. She was known to be generous, hardworking, an active church member, and loved by all that knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ludwig and Johanna Scotvold; her husband, Junior Coose; her mother and father-in-law, Enoch and Rosa Coose; her sisters, June Mulligan, Joanne Richards, and her twin sister, Darlene Novak; her brothers-in-law, Hubert Coose, John Stoll, Jack Coose, Leonard Mulligan and Stanley Novak.
Survivors include her children, Mike Coose and Leasa Coose; her sisters-in-law, Luanna Coose, Fern Stoll, Becky Coose and Loraine Coose; her brother-in-law, Jerry Coose; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Lockwood Cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lockwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com. Services were under the care of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
