Anna Belle Butler

A longtime resident of Joplin; Anna Belle Butler passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Peters, Missouri on 03/18/23 after a short illness.

Ann was born 09/08/1932 outside of Greenfield, Missouri at the farmhouse of her maternal Grandparents.

Ann and her husband John W. Butler moved to Joplin shortly after John was honorably discharged from the Army in 1953.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years & daughter Kathy Butler. She is survived by her son Roger and his family, wife Shawn and children Ian and Jillian along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Ann had an amazing amount of empathy and love for others, whether they were family /friends or strangers. She lived Our God’s direction to love your neighbor (and everyone was a neighbor) as you love yourself. She lived her life in Crescendo, making new friends well into her late 80’s and keeping/nurturing friendships of decades in length.

Ann will be buried outside of Greenfield, Mo. at the family cemetery of Carr’s Chapel on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers: the family would suggest donations to a children’s ministry based in Ghana, Africa. Salt & Light Ministries/13206 Kepler Cove/Austin, Tx. 78729.
