James Jones

James Albert Jones, was born on March 19, 1940 in Sheldon, Mo. He passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 86 in St. Louis, Missouri. 
As a pastor and doctor of the Word of God, James spent a long career in ministry as a leader, a missionary, and a visionary in Greenfield, Missori, as well as St. Louis, Missouri. 
He touched countless lives with his passion and would often be heard saying,  “Always remember you are the Best God’s Got!!”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Meribell Brasher; granddaughter Shandra Davis; his parents, Karl and Otis Jones; father and mother-in-law, Guy and Grace Brasher; brothers-in-law, Jerry Brasher, Larry Brasher, J.H. Phipps, J.D. Yount, and sister-in-law Ruth Ann Neihoff; and also his niece Debbie Motz and three great-grand babies. 
He is survived by his wife, Janet Gray Jones; and children: Kelly Eileen Frieze (Roger), Tracy Dawn Davis (Arthur), James Kevin Jones (Jennifer), Michelle Forster (Jim), Victoria Eldridge, Dawn Frias (Lupe), Bobi-Ann Phillips (Mark), Garnet Gray (Lisa), and 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
He has received the words he longed to hear from our Lord Jesus, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
Arrangements for his memorial will be in St. Peters at First Assembly Church on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. 
There will be a graveside memorial service in Greenfield, Missouri, on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Greenfield Cemetery.
