Hazel Deane Jones

Mrs. Hazel Deane Dawson Jones, 91, of China Grove, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at CMC Northeast Medical Center.

Born on February 13, 1925 in Clermont, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Page Gates and Elizabeth Rickers Dawson.

Mrs. Jones retired from California State Polytechnic University as a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of First Baptist Church in China Grove, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Roy Jones. Also preceding her are her sons Danny and Dennis Jones as well as brothers, Joseph and Dale Dawson.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her son, Stephen Ferree (Charlotte), of San Jose, California; and daughters: Michelle Sampson (Fred) of Mooresville, North Carolina; Jeanne Galliher (Ron) of Baltimore, Ohio; Linda Brennan (Tom); and Denise Ribbick (Gery).

A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at First Baptist Church in China Grove, North Carolina, with Rev. Steve Wilson, minister.
