Eden Phillips

Eden Caroline (Fox) Phillips, of Lockwood, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 88. She was a loving, resilient woman whose straightforward honesty and deep faith shaped her life and the lives of those around her.
Eden was born on May 22, 1937, to Pearl (Langford) Fox and Elmer Fox, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, June (Fox) Stout; and her children, Debbie Lantz and Kevin Umberger.
Eden is survived by her brother, Wilbur Fox; her children: Jim Periman, Bill Periman, Brenda Obert, Nancy Periman, and Harold Umberger; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a source of great pride and joy in her life.
A devoted Christian, Eden found strength and comfort in her faith. She loved gospel music, cherished time spent crocheting, enjoyed genealogy and Scrabble, and had a lifelong appreciation for music. 
Eden was known for her loving heart, resilience through life’s challenges, and her honest, no-nonsense way of speaking, that those close to her came to admire and respect.
Eden worked for many years as a legal secretary and later as a nursing technician, roles that reflected both her sharp mind and her caring nature.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Lockwood Christian Church. Private inurnment was at Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eden’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
