John Hood

January 14, 2026

John Ralph Hood, age 62, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born on July 20, 1963, in Springfield, Missouri, and resided in Miller, Missouri.
John was a devoted Christian and father to his two children, Brandon Hood and Sarina Hood, who were the pride and joy of his life. Also, grandfather to his beloved grandsons: Jackson, Jadon, James, Jonathan, and Jacob.
He was preceded in life by his parents, Judy and Ralph Hood. John is survived by his siblings: Steve Hood, Jane Hood, Sheryl Hood, and Phillip Hood.
John was a man with a larger-than-life personality. He knew no stranger and loved everyone he met. His love for God shined through him in everything he did. He was stubborn, determined, passionate, and honest. You never had to wonder where you stood with John.
John made the life-changing decision to turn his life over to Jesus Christ, a choice that defined the rest of his journey. Even through the many trials he faced, John never slowed down. He lived life in the fast lane and remained deeply proud of his children and grandsons.
He had a strong passion for sharing the Gospel and was actively involved in Summit Baptist Church and local Truck Stop Ministries (TSA Truck Stop). John felt called to serve both near and far, traveling on mission trips to Africa, Costa Rica, and Mexico to spread God’s word.
John was a proud member of the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) and was actively involved in Jeep Junkies and the Jeeps O’Pete 4x4 Club. He loved anything that involved a motor and an adrenaline rush. Whether riding his motorcycles and trike, off-roading, or chasing his next adventure, John was always on the go.
Truly one of a kind, John had a gift for making people laugh while also making them shake their heads. He loved to keep everyone on their toes and touched countless lives through his friendships, faith, and fearless spirit. There will never be another John Hood.
We never know when it will be our time to leave this earth, but God does. John knew where he was going, and he can now rest peacefully. We are grateful for the time we were given with him and for the love, faith, and memories he leaves behind.
