City of Everton Special Meeting

The City of Everton held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 4 p.m.

The meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. by Mayor Vicky Cole. Roll call: Board Members Robert D'Amato, Robert Bookout and Ray Shearer were all present. 
Motion was made by Rob D'Amato and seconded by Robert Bookout.to approve the Special Meeting Agenda as prepared. Rob D'Amato, Robert Bookout and Ray Shearer all in favor.

The first item on the agenda was Repealing the Revised Ordinance No. 17 Concerning Salaries and Fees. There were no public comments allowed to be made during the special meeting, nor was a reason given for the Repealing of Ordinance 17. 
 
The ordinance was read twice, in Title Only, by City Clerk Crystal Fulk.

The ordinance reads as follows: BILL NO. 224 ORDINANCE NO 17
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING REVISED ORDINANCE 17 CONCERNING SALARIES AND FEES
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Everton adopted Revised Ordinance 17, an Ordinance Concerning Salaries and Fees, on September 10, 2025
WHEREAS, Revised Ordinance 17 provided compensation to the Mayor and each Board member of $65.00 to be applied to the monthly Water/Sewer bill for the Mayor and each Board member while serving their term in office;
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen has determined that, effective immediately, it wants to repeal Revised Ordinance 17; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desires that, if any City monies have been applied toward the monthly Water/Sewer bill for the Mayor or any Board member since the passage of Revised Ordinance 17, that the any such monies be refunded back to the City by the Mayor or any Board member who has received a $65.00 payment toward the monthly Water/Sewer bill for that official.
THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Board of Alderman of the City of Everton, Missouri as follows:
SECTION 1: Revised Ordinance 17, attached, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and each Board member shall, as soon as practicable, refund any compensation received under Revised Ordinance 17 back to the City.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage.
SECTION 4: All City ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby appealed.

Passed by the Board of Alderman and approved by the mayor this 24 day of September 2025.

Ray Shearer made the motion to approve, seconded by Robert D' Amato. Robert D'Amato, Robert Bookout and Ray Shearer all in favor.

Second item on the agenda was the swearing in of new Alderman Lisa Probst. Probst was sworn in by City Clerk Crystal Fulk. 

Motion to adjourn was made by Robert D'Amato., seconded by Lisa Probst. Robert D'Amato, Robert Bookout and Ray Shearer all in favor.
