Adrian Murray
September 17, 2025

Adrian Murray, 97, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born December 31, 1927, in Ash Grove, Missouri, to Glenn and Edna (Heims) Murray.
On December 17, 1948, Adrian and Wannalea Hollingsworth were united in marriage and shared over 68 years together, before Wannalea’s passing in 2017.
Adrian Murray was born, raised, and lived his entire life on the same family land, where he also raised his own family. The only time he left home was to serve his country in the United States Navy for two years.
Upon returning in 1947, he began farming, a calling that became his life’s work and passion. Adrian was a devoted dairy farmer from 1947 until 2002, and he continued working the land until 2022, when his health no longer allowed.
Beyond his farm, Adrian was deeply involved in his community. He served as president of the Ash Grove MFA, sat on the MFA Missouri Board of Directors, and dedicated 38 years to the Missouri Soil and Conservation Board.
After his retirement from dairy farming, he also worked as a security guard at Underground Cave in Springfield, with Route 66 Auto Sales, and at SacRiver Kennels, where he enjoyed caring for and delivering puppies to clients in the 4-state area.
Known as a tireless worker from dawn until dusk, Adrian’s favorite way to get around was on a tractor—and more recently, his golf cart. He was considered “a legend farmer in the area,” leaving behind a legacy of hard work, faithfulness, and deep roots in his community.
Adrian is survived by his daughters, Marty Murray and Traci Williams; son-in-law, Rick Williams; grandsons, Jay Williams, Justin Williams; five great-grandchildren, McKael, Scyla, Lily, Rowdy, Jax; two great, great-grandchildren, Reegan and Kennidi; three nephews and one niece and other family and friends.
Adrian is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Edna Murray; wife, Wannalea Murray; daughter, Marcia Murray; and grandson, Scott Masler.
No services are planned at this time.
