Karen Gardner
September 17, 2025
Karen Leigh Gardner, 63, of South Greenfield, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at her home.
Karen was born on July 30, 1962, in Lockwood, Missouri, to Bill and Frances Hudspeth. From an early age, she was known for her vibrant spirit, warm smile, and her ability to light up any room she entered.
On April 24, 1982, Karen married the love of her life, Donnie Gardner in Greenfield, Missouri. Together they built a beautiful life and a loving family, rooted in faith, laughter, and devotion to one another.
She built a life full of love and service, both to her family and to her community. As the proud owner of First Impression Hair Salon in Greenfield, Karen shared her gift of cosmetology for many years, touching lives not just with her talent but with her kindness and genuine care for each person who sat in her chair.
Karen loved spending her days shopping, soaking up sunshine by the pool, cruising on the lake, and dreaming of tropical getaways. She was happiest near the water, surrounded by family and friends. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her time serving on the worship team at Round Grove Baptist Church, where she lifted her voice in praise and helped others feel closer to God.
Above all else, Karen’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to Donnie Gardner; a loving mother to her son, Cole (wife Samantha and kids Carson, Cohen, and Lincoln) Gardner; daughter, Jade (husband Zach and kids Raleigh and Ridge) Kahre; and daughter, Jordan (husband Josh and kids Tucker, Lilly, and Jentry) Spain. She was a proud “Gigi” to all eight grandkids. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Blackwell and Patsy Fox.
Karen’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She will be remembered for her generosity, her adventurous spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel like family.
In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service will be held for family and close friends. A Celebration of Life, filled with praise and worship, will be held on Sunday, October 5, at 2 p.m. at the Goat Ranch (945 South State HWY 39, South Greenfield, MO 65752). Please join us as we rejoice in the goodness of God and the joy she brought to our lives.
Her family finds peace in knowing that while she will be deeply missed on this earth, her song continues in heaven.
