Gail Chaney

Gail Chaney, of Springfield, Missouri went home to be with Jesus, Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 89.
Gail was born on August 28, 1935, to Roger and Marylou (Coole) Huebert, in Southern California.  On September 4, 1953, Gail and Gerald Chaney were united in marriage; together they shared over 64 years together, before Gerald’s passing in 2018. 
Gail loved spending time with her family more than anything. She enjoyed being together, whether it was a holiday gathering or just an ordinary day. She was also a woman of strong faith and loved being part of her church. Gail enjoyed reading and always had a book nearby. She and Gerald shared many happy times together—camping, traveling, and working on model airplanes. They enjoyed each other’s company and made many wonderful memories through the years.    
Gail is survived by her son, David Chaney and wife, Christina of California; grandson, Glen Chaney of California; daughter, Nancy Smithson and husband, Holland, of Springfield; five grandsons: Josh Smithson; Justin Smithson and wife, Brittany; Brian Smithson and wife, Rebekah; Daniel Smithson and wife, Debbie; Tyler Smithson and wife, Brittany; 11 great grandchildren: Kindall, Audra, Jase, Claire, Lillian, Caroline, Lauren, Demi, Reese, Rory, Rowan, and one on the way; other family and many friends. 
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Marylou Huebert; husband, Gerald Chaney; and brother, Ronald Huebert.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, Missouri.
