David Melton
April 29, 2025

David Wayne Melton, of Aldrich, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, April 21, 2025, in his home at the age of 68.
He was born on February 9, 1957 in Lockwood, Missouri, to Troy Wayne and Alberta (Huchteman) Melton. David was saved and baptized on May 12, 1968, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dadeville. He graduated from Dadeville High School in 1975.
David was united in marriage to Ronda Jean Baker on January 7, 1977 in Cane Hill, Missouri. He enjoyed playing town team basketball and softball. David was a lifetime farmer working on a dairy farm and raising beef cattle. David had recently retired driving the school bus for the Dadeville School after 18 years.
Most importantly to David was his family. It was just never David; it was always David and Ronda. They were married for 48 years and they hardly spent the day apart. Their kids and their grandkids were their world. Always putting ballgames and school events first. He also loved watching Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith and the Virginian.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Wayne and Alberta Melton; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Allowee Baker.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ronda Melton of the home; two daughters: Sonja Keathley and husband, Matthew, of Aldrich, Missouri; and Alyssa White and husband, A.J., of Greenfield, Missouri; two sisters: Cathy Clift of Aldrich, Mssouri, and Vicki Straszweski of Georgia; five grandchildren: Landon Keathley; Brayden Keathley; Sadie White; Ben Keathley and wife, Clancy; and Marcus Keathley and wife, Emily; six great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Dadeville. Burial followed in Dadeville Masonic Cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
