Norma Beckley

Norma Lou (Rector) Beckley 84 of Lockwood, Jerico Springs, and Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Willard Care Center after a battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many, and she lived a long, happy and fulfilling life.
Norma was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 18, 1940, to parents Myrl and Nellie Rector. Norma graduated from Stockton R-1 Schools. Throughout her life she worked in a variety of occupations including homemaker and several positions with the Stockton R-1 School District that included cafeteria food service, bus driver, para-professional, and secretary. She also thoroughly enjoyed her time spent as a water safety instructor while living at Lockwood, Missouri.
Norma married Harry L. Beckley on November 19, 1958. Norma was a devoted mother to three children: Scott (Caroline), Mt. Vernon, Missouri; Shari, Republic, Missouri; and Brent (Carey), Jefferson City, Missouri.
Norma had a number of creative interests including tole painting, knitting, sewing, quilting, and basket weaving. She also took special joy and shared many fond memories of the family’s history.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and her parents. She is survived by her three children and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Visitation was Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, Missouri. Graveside service was Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Brasher Cemetery at Jerico Springs, Missouri.
