Peggy Ann (Moore) Horton, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2025, in her home at the age of 77.
She was born on February 12, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri, to Thomas and Annabell (Brewer) Moore.
Peggy graduated from Everton High School in 1965 and was the Valedictorian of her class.
She received her Cosmetology degree in Springfield, Missouri.
Peggy was united in marriage to James W. “Jim” Horton on October 20, 1969 in Miami, Oklahoma.
She worked as a beautician, and also owned and operated the Vedette Print Shop for many years with her husband, Jim. Peggy was actively involved with Dade County Federated Republican Women.
She enjoyed needle tatting, painting, and crafting. Peggy also liked searching for arrowheads from the time she was a child, as she loved adding them to her collection. She always loved having pets from dogs, cats, and birds.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Annabell Moore; her husband, Jim Horton; and one brother, Olin Moore.
Survivors include one sister, Conita “Nicki” Vandegrift; one brother, Steve Moore and wife, Pam; special sister-in-law, Pam Burns and husband, Pat; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
The family received friends Monday morning at 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
