Gary Lawrence Gossett

Gary Lawrence Gossett, age 82, of Greenfield, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his home. He was born June 29, 1942, in Aurora, Missouri, the son of Lovel and Velma (Cartwright) Gossett.

Gary was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He had a barber shop in Halltown, Missouri, was a farmer and owned a video store. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, square dancing, and hunting mushrooms. He was of the Baptist faith.

On May 29, 1961, he married Margaret Jane Pendergrass, in Ash Grove, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2023.

Gary is survived by two sons, Shannon Gossett and his wife, Gerry, of Greenfield, Missouri and Gary W. Gossett and his wife, Debbie, of Ash Grove, Missouri; two brothers, Ronnie and Ricky; one sister, Vickie; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lovel and Velma; his wife, Margaret; his brother, Dave; two sisters, Patty and Lucille and one great-grandson.

No services are planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date at Ruckman Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
