Donald “Bud” Arthur, Jr.

Donald “Bud” Arthur Jr., age 64, of Willard, Missouri, passed away Wednesday October 16, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born on July 3, 1960, in Springfield, Missouri, to Donald and Peggy (Green) Arthur Sr. 

Bud was united in marriage to the love of his life, of 36 years to Debra “Debbie” Joplin on March 14, 1980. Sadly, she passed in 2016. They had two children, Jaime and Donald “Bub” Arthur.

Bud loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren Elizabeth, Devin, Jordan, Megan, and Dereck. Also, his very special great grandchildren Owen, Rosalee, Cooper, Ella, Oakley, and soon to be introduced into the world, River. He shared many special times with his grandchildren. They recall great memories such as “Pop” teaching them to mushroom hunt, ride four wheelers, cook special meals, and countless photos of “Pop’s grin” while holding and playing with them.

He loved old country music, driving back roads, and camping in Chadwick with the entire family throughout the years. 

He was a concrete laborer/finisher at DeWitt and Associates, Inc., and a member of Laborers’ Local Union 663. He took pride in the work he did and he learned a lot from his father who was in the same trade. Bud was a well-known asset on job sites in Springfield and surrounding areas. He made many friends throughout his working years.

Bud is survived by his children: Jaime Arthur; Donald Arthur III and wife, Rosene; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Levi), Devin (Mikayla), Jordan (Lynzee), Megan, Dereck; great grandchildren: Owen, Rosalee, Cooper, Ella, Oakley, River; siblings, Debbie (Dennis), Charlotte, Alvina (Eddie), Cheryl (Ken), Dennis Dale (Shelly), Darin (Shawnee); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lot of friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Peggy Arthur and wife, Debbie Arthur.
