Patsy Joan “Jobie” Steeley

Patsy Joan “Jobie” Steeley, 90 of Everton, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. Jobie was born November 21, 1933, to Clyde and Anita (Poindexter) Jones in Everton, Missouri. On December 23, 1951, Jobie and Sanford Steeley were united in marriage and shared 48 years together before Sanford’s passing in 2000.

Jobie is a lifelong area resident. She was active in her church, Antioch Christian and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved music and was part of Friends of Music and in a trio. This trio of Jobie, Carol Jones, and Chloe Ethel Poindexter sang at many funerals throughout the years.

Jobie loved to cook for her family and she was known for her homemade biscuits, donuts, and chocolate pies. Jobie loved everyone and always had a smile.

Jobie is survived by her children: Roger Steeley and wife, Suzanne; Terry Steeley and wife, Betty; Rebecca Rooks and husband, Jeff; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Betty Jones, Peggy Jones; brothers-in-law: Larry Steeley and wife, Ellie; Dwight Steeley and wife, Jeanie; sister-in-law, Ann Glenn and husband, Jerry; close cousin, Marilyn Fluty; nieces, nephews; other family and many friends.

Jobie is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Anita Jones; husband, Sanford Steeley; still born baby, Sara Beth on September 4, 1961; and granddaughter, Sarah Beth.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Antioch or Friend Cemetery and may be left with the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Nursing Home for all the loved and care they gave to Jobie.
