Ninavea Myers
Ninavea (Vandegrift) Myers was born on February 10, 1931, on her parents’ farm near Everton, Missouri. She departed this life on December 19, 2023, at her home in Everton, Missouri, at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and nine days.
Ninavea was the daughter of Clyde and Libbie (Jones) Vandegrift. At the age of 13, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior during a Memorial Day service at Liberty Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of Everton. She loved living on the farm, doing needlework, and playing with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and GaGa.
On January 1, 1950, she was united in marriage to J. D. Myers and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.; her parents; her sister, Madeline (John) Reich; brother, Curtis (Betty) Vandegrift; son-in-law, John Sugg; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Myers; two special aunts, Nina Rutherford and Vea Jones; and step-mother, Marjorie Vandegrift.
Ninavea is survived by three daughters: Judy Sugg of Everton; Suzanne Myers of Springfield; Teresa (John) Flowers, of Everton; one son, Micheal (Daralene) Myers of Everton, nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Rose Mary Myers; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, dear friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Hopewell Baptist Church, southeast of Everton, Missouri. Burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery, located on Highway WW between Everton and Miller, Missouri. Visitation was held Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hopewell Baptist Church.
