Barbara Edna Bock
Barbara Edna Bock passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 while a resident at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri, at the age of 95.
She was born in New Jersey and after graduating from Drexel College in Philadelphia, she moved to Missouri to work for the Missouri Extension Service. It was there in Carthage that she met and later married her husband of 50 years, Bill. They relocated to Greenfield, Missouri and raised their three daughters.
Barbara began teaching elementary school in Lockwood in the late 60’s and later taught at Greenfield Elementary in the early 70’s. She was lifelong teacher, and each task she did with her grandchildren throughout the years was a teaching moment.
After she and Bill retired to their farm in South Greenfield, they raised cattle and traveled. Bill passed away in July 2000.
Barbara is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Carol and Mike Huffman of Springfield; Susan and Brian Wehrman of Greenfield; and Janet and Mike Phillips of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Brandi Partington and children Bryson, Brenna and Hadley of Southern Pines, North Carolina; Jonathan Hall and wife Stephanie and children Noah, Olivia and Mila of Green Cove Springs, Florida; Andie Gold and husband, Solomon and children Ari and Ilan of Austin, Texas; Benjamin Hall and wife, Adrienne of Seattle, Washington; Britni Davis and husband, Wes and children Harper, Finley and Grayson of Ava, Missouri; Jennifer Clark and husband Steve and children Owen and Wren and Bryan and Amanda Phillips and children Braylon and Conner all of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Also surviving are two special nieces, LaQuita Bittle of Bixby, Oklahoma and Beryl Lyford of Neptune, New Jersey.
Barbara was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com. Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
