Lockwood R-1 Board of Education Minutes - July 25, 2023

Call to Order The Lockwood R-1 Board of Education met Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 7 a.m. Larry Coose

called the meeting to order and opened with prayer. Tina Schnelle was absent.

Approve Motion by Nichole Ogden to approve the agenda as presented. Agenda Second by Robbie Patterson. Motion carried 6-0.

Consent Motion by Willie Stefan to approve the consent agenda as presented except payment to Agenda NetVision and Nichole Ogden. Second by Kirk Neill. Motion carried 6-0.

Approve Motion by Adam Whitesell to approve payment to NetVision and Nichole Ogden. Payment Second by Kirk Neill. Motion carried 4-0-2. Larry Coose and Nichole Ogden abstained.

Bus Routes Motion by Nichole Ogden to approve tentative bus routes with adjustments as needed. Second by Kirk Neill. Motion carried 6-0.

Learning Loss Motion by Robbie Patterson to employ Warren Berry in the Learning Loss Specialist position

Specialist for 2023-24. Second by Willie Stefan. Motion carried 6-0.

WADA Transfer Motion by Adam Whitesell to approve the Weighted Average Daily Attendance Transfer

Resolution Resolution. Second by Nichole Ogden. Motion carried 6-0.

Veregy Motion by Willie Stefan to move forward with Veregy to plan projects for a bond issue. Second by Nichole Ogden. Motion carried 6-0.

Substitute Motion by Kirk Neill to approve the substitute teacher list for 2023-24 as presented.

Teacher List Second by Adam Whitesell. Motion carried 6-0.

Reports: Mr. Lasater reported the paving and sealing on asphalt has been completed. The old

baseball field lights have been removed and installation of new poles and lights are in progress.

Installation of audio visual equipment in the FEMA building is complete. Cleaning and finishing

on gym floors is scheduled the week of August 1st .

Mr. Scott reported enrollment for middle/high school students will be August 8th from 9 to 3.

The mandatory student parent meeting for middle school and high school students is scheduled for

August 21st . The “kick off” for all sports will be August 17th and the volleyball jamboree is August 22nd .

Dates and times will be available on the district’s website.

Next Meeting The board will meet Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 7 p.m.
