Allan Franklin VanHooser

Allan Franklin VanHooser, of Dadeville, MO, departed this life surrounded by his wife and daughters on June 25, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born on November 6, 1942, in Dade County, MO to Frank and Georgia (Buck) VanHooser. He accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. Allan was united in marriage to Patty Witt on June 2, 1961, in the bride’s parent’s home by Brother Dennis Smith. They just celebrated their 62nd anniversary.

In 2015, Allan and Patty took logs from their property and constructed a cabin where they enjoyed frying fish for family and friends. Allan also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandsons, watching his grandkids play sports, and gardening. You could almost always find him on his tractor, bulldozer, or grader. He took great pride in his family, his work, and his legacy.

Survivors include his wife Patty VanHooser; three daughters; Cheryl and husband Rod O’Connor of Arcola, Angela and husband Steven Shepard of Greenfield, Shelly and husband Clayton McMasters of Ash Grove; eleven grandchildren, Jarrod and wife Robyn, Jarromy and wife Kelly, Joshua and wife Cassie, Kinsey, Kylee and husband Kory, Taylor and husband Justin, Hayden and wife Baylee, Sarah and husband Michael, Travis, Grace and husband Chace, Teddy and Hannah; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Georgia and brothers Richard and Blaine

There is a hole in each one of our hearts too vast to fill but as we re-live the many memories, he left us with, they will no doubt bring us comfort and joy and his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Arcola Christian Church. Burial followed in the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery. The family received friends on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery.
