May 21, 2023

Julian Andrew Snadon of Miller, Missouri passed away on May 2, 2023, at the age of 69. Born October 17, 1953, in Springfield, Missouri to John Alexander Snadon, Jr. and Dorothy Ruth (Coyne) Snadon, Julian received his B. A. in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975. He had careers in aviation, the military, and school teaching. A pilot with over 4,500 flight hours, he maintained his own airfield and assisted at local airports in Dade and Lawrence counties. He served in the U. S. Army and National Guard at the rank of Staff Sergeant. During active duty in the Iraq War in 2004 he repaired aircraft engines and accompanied flight missions. For over 30 years he was a substitute teacher, primarily in the Miller, Missouri High School. He is survived by a brother, Patrick Snadon and brother-in-law, Gene Paytes, of Ludlow, KY, and is remembered by his friends, neighbors, and students for his airplane "flyovers" at public and private events and for giving rides to interested young people. There will be no formal ceremony. Julian's greatest pleasure was in the sky. May he have gentle tailwinds.
