Janice “Jan” Lee Griffin
Janice “Jan” Lee Griffin, 75, passed away on January 22, 2023, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. Jan was born in Stockton, California on June 18, 1947, to Lee and Arizona Hopkins. When she was a little girl they moved to Stockton, Missouri where she attended school and graduated in 1965. Jan married Gary Griffin in 1968, they shared 52 years together until his death in 2020. They had four children: Kary Griffin, Marcia Griffin, Sherry Holland (Mike) and Timothy Griffin (Misty). Her 8 grandchildren were so special to her; Isaac, Milo and Cecelia Griffin; Kennedy ‘KJ’ Griffin and the late Ruby Griffin; Jason and Ryleigh Holland; Braycen Witt. She also leaves behind two sisters; Corliss Rivera (David) and Gwen Mierau (Steve); sister-in-law Linda Hopkins; daughter-in-law Nichole McMillan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jan was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Gary, granddaughter Ruby and her brother Randall Hopkins.
Jan was an active member of the Bona Church of Christ. She was a homemaker for many years, but she was employed with Penmac Staffing for over 10 years until she retired. Jan was quite the artist, but she also enjoyed quilting, crafts/scrapbooking and nurturing her flower gardens. Jan was well known for her genealogy work. She spent hours researching our family tree and the history of the Bona Church of Christ.
One of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, she loved spending time with them, taking lots of pictures and attending their sporting events and activities.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2pm-4pm at the Bona Church of Christ in Bona MO. With a private family graveside service that followed.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in Jan’s memory to the Bona Church of Christ, 4 Bona Loop, Aldrich, MO 65601 to support their mission work.
