Delores Jean Combs
Delores Jean Combs, 79, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Monday,
November 14, 2022, at her home. She was born November 9, 1943, in Reeds Springs, Missouri,
the daughter of Delbert and Cora (Poor) Barnes.
Delores was a 1961 graduate of Reeds Springs High School in Reeds Springs, Missouri where
she was an avid volleyball player, cheerleader, and Prom Queen. She was a homemaker,
seamstress, hunter, and fisherman. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in
Springfield, Missouri.
On January 18, 1967, she married Thomas Lester Combs, in Branson, Missouri. He preceded her
in death on February 16, 2018.
Delores is survived her two daughters, Cynthia Combs, of Springfield, Missouri and Sonya Ayre,
of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren, Christopher Matlack and partner Maci Thorington of
Bolivar, Missouri, Danielle Kindig and partner Brandon Smith of Springfield, Allison Thompson
and her husband, Dylon, of Springfield and Anna Baker and her husband, Brett, of St. Louis,
Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Freeman and her husband, Donald, of
Denham Springs, Louisiana and Rosella Combs and her husband, Richard, of Branson, Missouri
and one brother-in-law, Rick Palmer of Merriam Woods, Missouri.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert, and Cora; two very special grandparents,
Georgia, and Noah Poor; her husband, Thomas; son, Michael Combs; daughter, Michelle Palmer
and one brother, Dale Barnes.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Williams
Funeral Home in Marionville, Missouri.
