Byron J. Harman

Byron J. Harman, 83, of Walnut Grove, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was born on January 7, 1939, in Walnut Grove, MO to Martin “Alec” and Edna (Jones) Harman. On July 31, 2009, Byron and Sarah Killingsworth were united in marriage and shared 13 years together.
Byron was a life-long area resident of Walnut Grove. He retired from Mid-America Dairy, but never retired from farming. He was a dairy farmer and milked for his farm along with milking for others in the area. He also had a custom hay and combine business and purchased his first hay truck while in high school. Byron also had a bulk Sunday paper route for many years, delivering papers to the rural areas. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, but most recently Byron enjoyed eating out, fishing, playing cards, and going for drives. Byron loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he loved watching them play ball. He was a kind, genuine, and compassionate man, who will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Byron is survived by his wife, Sarah Harman; children, Randy Harman and wife Susan, Ronnie Harman and wife Kristie, Russell “Russ” Harman and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Zachary Harman and wife Hanna, Madison Harman, Jessica Endrizzi and husband Alex, Brandy Tiller and husband John, Hannah Porter and husband Austin, Heather Harman Michael and husband Trent, Bayley Harman and fiancé Peyton Ross; great grandchildren, Autumn and Warren Tiller, Adalyn and Laynie Porter; step-children, Kim Dobbins, Scott Bryant and wife Miranda; 6 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents, Martin “Alec” and Edna Harman; twin sister, Beverly Bishop; brother, Paul Harman; sister, Mary Alice Looney; step-son, Randy Bryant; and step-son-in-law, Tommy Dobbins.

Visitation will be Monday, November 14, 2022, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Walnut Grove School -Lunch Accounts and may be left at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank KU Med and Kanas City Hospice House for all the love and care they gave to Byron.
