Ruby Ayla Griffin
Ruby Ayla Griffin, 16 years old of Wheatland, Missouri, passed away on September 23, 2022. Ruby was born on July 14, 2006 in Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by her parents, Tim and Misty Griffin; step-brother Braycen, Bona, Missouri and Pat and Nichole McMillan, Flemington, Missouri; sister, Kennedy Griffin, Bolivar, Missouri; grandparents Papa Mike and Nae Nae Renee Rozell, Nixa, Missouri; MeeMaw Linda McMillan, Flemington, Missouri and MeMe Jan Griffin, Bona, Missouri; aunts Marcia Griffin, Bolivar, Missouri; Sherry Holland (Mike), Eldon, Missouri; and Kim Johnston, Nixa, Missouri; uncles Kary Griffin, Aldrich, Missouri and Daven Rozell, Nixa, Missouri; beloved cousins Jason, Ryleigh, Isaac, Milo, Cecilia, Riley, Rocky; and numerous great uncles, aunts and friends.
She was preceded in death by her PaPa Gary Griffin, Bona, Missouri.
Ruby previously attended Dadeville High School and was currently attending Wheatland High School for her junior year. She was always active in FFA, FCCLA, cheerleading, softball and basketball. She was following her passion of helping others by pursuing the medical field in Vocational School while at Wheatland. She wanted to be a nurse.
Ruby loved hunting and fishing with both dads; attending Mizzou football games with her aunt; and traveling with MeeMaw. She loved shopping, playing games, crafts and float trips with her family and friends. Ruby enjoyed spending special time with her Nae Nae. Trips to the family farms were always the best with her cousins. One of her favorite things to do was to ride around with her big sister listening to music as loud as it could go.
Ruby brought joy and a smile to everyone that knew her. She loved her family and adored her friends. She considered her friends family, too. Ruby was the life of the party, a bright ray of sunshine, and was full of joy. She was not afraid to get dirty, and those who knew her would often remark, “I absolutely adore that girl.” Her heart was so pure, as she showed in many ways, including always taking in animals in need.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Lucas Oil Speedway track in Wheatland. A private family graveside service followed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ruby Griffin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Oak Star Bank (any location), or to either Dadeville or Wheatland High School. The Ruby Griffin Memorial Scholarship will be given out to two students, one from Dadeville High School and one from Wheatland High School, who are involved in FFA and/or Vocational School, both of which were passions of Ruby.
