Harold Danny Siler, Jr.
Harold Danny Siler, Jr., age 67, Carterville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at his home with family by his side.
Danny was born September 10, 1954, in Duenweg, Missouri, son of the late Harold Danny “Jimmy” Siler, Sr. and Wanda Marie (Thomas) Siler. He graduated from the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri, in 1974. He worked as a machinist for O & F Machine Products for years, and was also a bus driver for the Joplin School District. He most recently was driving for Door Dash and local pizza firms. He also enjoyed his time as a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Grove working with the deaf. He loved his family, and spending time helping others with disabilities. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Penny (Englent) Siler; daughters, Stacy Siler and James Chamberlain of Joplin, and Shari Sherrill and Joshua of Erie, Kansas; grandchildren, Lyric Chamberlain, Lakain Chamberlain, Nakooma Farrell, Hope Sherrill, and Chance Sherrill; step-siblings with whom he grew up, Kenneth Smith (Patti) of Memphis, Tennessee; David Smith of Joplin; Tim Smith of Carl Junction; and Marcia Sommer (Charlie) of Florence, South Carolina.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary with memorial service to be held at a later date.
