Patricia King died Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Lockwood, Missouri, at the age of 79. After graduating high school at Lockwood, Missouri, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Missouri. She also received a Master of Science Degree in Family and Child Development from Kansas State University and a Master of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Central Missouri State University.
Patricia began her work experience during seventh grade by assisting the lab technician at Lockwood Memorial Hospital. She also worked at the local drive-in restaurant her parents operated. She taught Family and Consumer Sciences for 31 years in the North Kansas City School District.

After retiring from teaching at the age of 53, she enjoyed international travel. She also enjoyed participating in bridge club, book club, bible study, Knitting4Peace, Questers, Red Hats, political groups, and Greater Kansas City Family and Consumer Sciences Association. Patricia was a devoted Christian and enjoyed serving others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horton (Junior) King; son, Christopher King; and her parents, Ruby (Chappell) and John E. Christner. She was born in Dade County Missouri on September 12. 1942.

She is survived by her son, John King and wife, Debbie of Platte Woods, Missouri; grandsons: Tyler Hollenkamp of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Michael King of Toledo, Ohio; and John Alexander King of Platte Woods, Missouri; sister, Elaine Kaelke of Lockwood, Missouri; and brother, John Keith Christner of Temple, Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Lockwood United Methodist Church, 410 N. Main Street, Lockwood, MO 65682. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided following the services at the church Life Center.

Burial will be private for family at Bona Cemetery, 4 Bona Loop in Aldrich, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1441 NE Englewood Rd., Kansas City, MO 64118; Lockwood United Methodist Church, Box 241, Lockwood, MO 65682; or one’s favorite charity.
