Ronald Wayne Turner

Ronald Wayne Turner, 76, was born May 1, 1945 in DeQuincey, Louisiana. His parents were Lonnie Wayne Turner and Donna Jeanne (McGregor) Turner. He is preceded in death by both his parents and his three sisters: Cheryl Higginbottom, Bette Ingrum and Nancy Ingrum.
Ron spent most of his childhood living with his grandparents, Tim and Anna McGregor in Oklahoma and Missouri. Ron graduated from Parkview High School in Springfield, Missouri in 1963. He met Donna Breedlove and they were married. To this union two daughters were born: Rhonda Michelle and Julie Ann.
Ron was an entrepreneur with a zeal for life. He strived to be the very best at everything he did. He loved sports and was very good at them. He spent a season on the roster for the Minnesota Vikings. Racing stock cars was his passion and he excelled in the sport in the early 1970’s. Ron was always around cars, whether racing, tinkering or selling them.
After his divorce, he moved to Tuscan, Arizona with his grandparents and then on to central California where he put down roots for many years.
Ron returned to Greenfield, Missouri, in 2017 where he finished out his life.
Survivors include his brother, Tim (Susan) Ingrum; daughters Rhonda (Jeff) Barnhouse, and Julie Turner; a half daughter Susan Vincent; five grandchildren: Chelsea (Michael) Vaughan, Brittany (Tyler) Baker, Samuel (Hannah) Barnhouse, Abbie (Taylor) Morris, and Casey Barnhouse and fiancé Kaley Lewis. Seven great grandchildren, Macy Baker, Lane Baker, Heidi Vaughan, Eloise Vaughan, Leo Vaughan, Wyatt Barnhouse and Justin Barnhouse.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Eudora Baptist Church. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Eudora Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
