Barbara Ann Walker
Barbara Ann Walker, 79, was granted her angel wings on Saturday, May 8, 2021 and is now resting at the feet of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Barbara was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Muriel Walker on May 28, 1965 for 53 years. Together, they shared a wonderful life together while raising 32 children; 6 biological and 26 adopted children. They also share a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and many, many close friends and relatives.
Barbara and her late husband Muriel founded and ran an adoption networking and information center for more than 20 years called, “The Harvest of Love.” They wanted to assist families looking for children as well as assisting children looking for families.
Barbara believed strongly in the quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson, that “each child is a flower, not a weed.” This motto / quote also reflected in her work, passion and love in what she did. She authored two (2) books; “Children Lost Forever” and “The Harvest of Love Brochure,” both published January 1, 1982. Barbara traveled all over the world doing what she loved, and she was known and loved by so many people. She will be immensely missed.
Barbara is survived by her children: Russell (Tracy), Kevin (Marilee), Roxanne, Kathy (Jim), Johnnie (Suzan), Rollene (Kenny), Melvin, LaRae, Clint (Erica), Jada, Tina (Gerald), Charley, Jennifer (Roger), Shonna (Brian), Clyde, Robert, Ray, Michael (Connie), Garrett, Jordan, Robbie, Frankie, Ki (Daniel), Joshua, Shara (Bryan), Shanika, Shameka, Christie (Vernon), Michelle, and Olivia. Barbara is also survived by many, many, many grandchildren, great–grandchildren that are too many to count; but oh, - did she love them so much and they loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Muriel Walker; and daughters, Charlotte Walker and Hattie Walker.
