Wertheimer Aki “Werthy” Mai
Wertheimer Aki “Werthy” Mai, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 48 after a long battle with COVID-19.
He was born on July 3, 1972, in Koror, Palau to Omoto Rengiil and Irorou Mai. Werthy was united in marriage to Kimberly Spain on June 10, 2000 at Camp Cumberland in South Greenfield, Missouri. They were blessed with two daughters, Kiarra and Kohen Mai.
He was a doting dad who loved his girls. He enjoyed anything that had to do with sports and traveled many miles following around his daughters’ teams. He also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan that always loved to take his girls to the ballpark.
Werthy never turned down a trip to hunt or fish with his buddies at Truman Lake either. He will be remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor, love for his community, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Preceding him in death was his father, Omoto Rengiil; and his maternal grandparents, Mai Osarch and Sariang N. Osarch.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Mai and their daughters, Kiarra and Kohen Mai of the home; his mother, Irorou Mai and husband Masasinge Arurang of Koror, Palau; his sister, Whisperlynn Rengiil and husband, Dio, and their daughter, Esebar of Honolulu, Hawaii; his father and mother in-law, Kerry and Cindy Spain of Greenfield, Missouri; his granny in-law, Jean Vanhooser of Greenfield, Missouri; his brother and sister in-law, Matt and Stephanie Spain, and their children, Payton, Daphne, and Johnny of South Greenfield, Missouri; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins all over the world.
Everyone was welcome to attend the graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020, in Kings Point Cemetery, Lockwood, Missouri. Family and friends were welcome to view and pay their respects on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
