Cora Frances (Franklin) Jennings

Cora Frances (Franklin) Jennings, 90, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, October 13, 2020 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Cora was born February 7, 1930 in South Greenfield, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Mildred (Shouse) Franklin. She was a 1948 graduate of Greenfield High School.

She married the love of her life, Glenn E. Jennings, on March 5, 1949 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. After raising her family, Cora worked for the Jasper County Collectors office and for the customer service department of KPL Gas Service. She was an active member of the Fairview Christian Church, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, serving anywhere needed. Cora loved her family, loved big family gatherings, and loved rocking a baby.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda J. Still and husband, Doyle, Carthage, Missouri; two sons: Allen D. Jennings and wife, Debbie, Carthage, Missouri; and Steven F. Jennings and wife, Jane, Joplin, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Benjamin Jennings and wife, Debbie; Brian Jennings and wife, Beth; Matthew Still and wife, Donna; Lisa Peterson and husband, Jason; Rachel Barnett and husband, Avery; Sarah Lowery; Grant Jennings; and Grace Jennings; great-grandchildren: Nate, Luke, and Zac Jennings; Cole, Levi, Shurabe, and Hope Jennings; Zane and Zoe Still; Connor, Trevor, Aubrey, and Brinley Peterson; Raegan Lowery; and Kai and Kenna Barnett; a brother, Howard M. Franklin and wife, Christine, Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Mary Helen Gilmore, Springfield, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Lucille Franklin, Greenfield, Missouri; and a large extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; three brothers, William S. Franklin, J.B. (Pete) Franklin, and Charles E. Franklin; and a sister, Betty J. Rountree.
