Deanna Dalene (Bunn) McLemore

Deanna Dalene (Bunn) McLemore, of South Greenfield, Missouri, was born July 17, 1937 in Kent, Iowa. She was the youngest child of Dale and Pearl Bunn. She passed from this life on Monday, July 20, 2020, at the age of 83 years.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers that passed soon after birth. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Christopher Columbus “C.C.” McLemore, III. She is also survived by her children, Christopher Columbus “Chris” (Kelly) McLemore IV, Binnie McLemore–Lopez, Clark (Ginger) McLemore, and Mary McLemore.
Deanna is also survived by her grandchildren Kelsey (Tim Cleland) McLemore, Katie (Dan) Louiselle, Hayley McLemore, Hanna (Adam) Jones, Catherine McLemore–Lopez, and Hunter McLemore–Lopez. She is also survived by her great– grandchildren Allison, Ellie Mae, and Emma Jo.

Deanna has always been a caring and loving person. She graduated from Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri in 1959 and she has been caring for people ever since. After nursing school, she moved to Greenfield, Missouri. Deanna (Bunn) went to work at the Lockwood Hospital and she helped take care of many of Dade County’s residents. Bunn met C.C. and they were married on October 28, 1960, near Arcola, Missouri by Reverend George Robinson. C.C. and Bunn started a family soon after getting married and moved to South Greenfield where they still live today.

Bunn continued to serve her community in many ways. When her children were young, she worked as the school nurse in the Greenfield School District. After her children left home, she worked many years for the Good Shepard Nursing Home and the Dade County Health Department as a home health nurse, as well as many other roles. Later in life she served her community on several boards, including the Dade County Health Department, Dade County Nursing Home, and the Dade County Library. She was a true community servant in every sense of the word.
Bunn was very passionate about many things in her life, but especially her faith in Jesus Christ and her love for her husband, C.C. She supported her husband in all of his endeavors and hobbies. C.C. and Bunn loved to be together, no matter the reason, whether it was square dancing, church, or the coffee shop. Their love for each other was very strong. C.C. and Bunn were committed to each other until the end.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020, in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends and family were welcome to view and pay their respects on Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
