Verl Dean Byers
Verl Dean Byers, 68, Miller, Missouri, ascended into Heaven on Friday, November 29, 2019. He was born on July 1, 1951 to Walter and Ava Maxine (Slater) Byers in Cortex, Colorado. He graduated high school in 1968 in Parker, Arizona. He graduated from Arizona Western College in 1971. In June 1971, Verl married Fay Becker in a ceremony in Parker, Arizona.
Verl’s expertise in electronics afforded him the opportunity to work in research and development in both discrete and high profile government missions, including the Pioneer Venus Orbiter and the Viking Orbiter.
In 1976, Verl moved his family to Lawrence County, where he lived the rest of his days on his farm. He is survived by his wife, Fay.
Additional survivors include sons, Brent and wife, Stefanie of Sarcoxie, Missouri; Brad and wife, Julie, of Joplin, Missouri; Frank and wife, Nadia, of Carthage, Missouri; Walter “Bo” and wife, Heather, of Greenfield, Missouri; and Michael and wife, Samantha, of Diamond, Missouri; daughters: Suzannah and fiance, Spence Moss, of Alba, Missouri; and Elizabeth and husband, Jed Hunt, of Miller, Missouri. Verl is survived by 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Larry and sisters Glennis Hayes and Micky Watts. Verl was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter, and sister, Wanda.
Verl will be missed by his family and friends as they all dearly loved him. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
