Dorthy Elaine Adams

Dorthy Elaine Adams, age 85, of South Greenfield, Missouri, passed away at 9:41 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at her home. She was born July 8, 1935, in Hartsell, Colorado, the daughter of Everette Oscar and Silvia (Pickering) Johnson.

On October 7, 1956, she married Francis Raymond Adams, in Prairie Village, Kansas.

Dorthy was a 1953 graduate of Miller High School and was a homemaker and farmer. She did all the farm work while Francis worked. She loved to go out to eat and was a good friend to many. Dorthy volunteered at the Miller Christian Center and the Greenfield Nursing Home and was of the Methodist faith.

Dorthy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Francis; one son, Gary Adams and his wife, Tammy, of South Greenfield; one grandson, Preston Adams of South Greenfield; two granddaughters: Kambi Adams and Jared and Tori Morris and her family of Mt. Vernon and their mother, Cindy Jones of Miller; one great-granddaughter, Zoe; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Silva; one son, Mike Adams; two brothers, Jim and Francis Johnson; and one grandson, Andrew Carr.

A graveside service under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at the Pennsboro Cemetery. There will be a public viewing for family and friends from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations may be made payable to the Miller Christian Center Food Bank, in care of the funeral home, PO Box 108, Miller, Missouri 65707.
