Leora Bell Sweaney

Leora Bell Sweaney, of South Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 93.

She was born on June 1, 1927 in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Albert Jackson and Clemmie Mae (Goins) Sweeten. Leora was united in marriage to James Woodrow Sweaney on April 24, 1945 in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was a member of the South Greenfield Baptist Church.
Leora loved attending to her flowers and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed canning her own produce and cooking. She was a talented seamstress.

Survivors include her three daughters: Brenda Dodson and husband, Wayne, of Everton, Missouri; Georgia Sparks and husband, Gary, of Greenfield, Missouri; and Betty Yount and husband, Calvin, of Greenfield, Missouri; grandchildren: Darla Blesz and husband, Dale, of Edridge, Iowa; Amber Wheatley and husband, Scott, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Shane Sparks of Webb City, Missouri; Shauna Satterfield and husband, Casey, of Greenfield, Missouri; Laurel Prichard and husband, Matt, of Greenfield, Missouri; Chandra Russell and husband, Brent, of Olathe, Kansas; and T.J. Yount of Greenfield, Missouri; great-grandchildren: Mason Pike, Peyton Pike, Carson Pike, Willa Wheatley, Cora Wheatley, Zachary Sparks, Jesse Sparks, Wylie Satterfield, Dalton Satterfield, Levi Satterfield, Lyla Prichard, Harper Prichard, Hailey Russell, Emily Yount, Katie Yount, and Kendall Russell.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, in Collins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Collins Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com. Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
