Clarita L. 'Clara' Murray

Clarita L. "Clara" Murray, of Greenfield, Mo., died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 78.

Murray was born July 19, 1941, in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines, to Balbino and Blanca (Fontillas) Labrador. Clarita was united in marriage to Leslie H. Murray on June 10, 1962 in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines. She had worked as a seamstress at DunBrooks Sportswear, and for many years at the Greenfield Pharmacy. Shewas a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. She was very proud of her community and devoted herself to numerous organizations for improvement, including the Dade County Women’s Democratic Society, the Dade County Improvement Group, Greenfield Board of Aldermen, and the American Red Cross. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Balbino and Blanca Labrador; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie Murray; two daughters, Theresa R. Sagun and Elizabeth K. Murray; three grandchildren, Rostan Alexander, Nico Murray, and Michael Sagun and fiancé Isabella Diosis; one great-grandchild, Ava Rose Sagun; two brothers, Gene Fabunan and Cesar Fabunan; one sister, Nena Fabunan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Due to current restrictions on travel and gatherings from COVID-19, a private family funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
