Mary Margaret Buus

Mary Margaret Buus, age 74, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 2:51 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2019, at her home. She was born June 5, 1945, in Monett, Missouri, the daughter of William Curtis and Anna Lucinda (Smith) Seneker.

Margaret was a 1963 Miller High School graduate and an accompanist for the Miller High School Music Department for over 28 years. Margaret was an incredibly active member of the Miller Christian Church, where she was the music director, Sunday school teacher, pianist, and organist. She was the president of the Miller Christian Service Center and a member of the Miller Lions Club. She helped with American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, in the Mt. Vernon Community Theater band, and the vice-president of the Miller Fall Festival Association.

On June 12, 1964, she married Richard Michael Buus in Miller, Missouri at the Miller Christian Church.

She was a wonderful wife, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Margaret is survived by her husband, of 55 years, Richard; one daughter, Lucinda Garringer and her husband, David, of Miller; two sons, Stephen Buus and his wife, Sheila, of Greenfield, Missouri, and John Buus and his fiancée, Consuelo Kalea, of Miller; eight grandchildren: LeeAnna and Marinna Garringer, Ebony, Emmanuella, Isabella Kalea, Amélie, Larissa, and Lars Buus; and one great-grandson, Teddy Garringer.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Lou, brother, John Seneker, father-in-law, Gregers Buus, and brother-in-law, James Buus.

A celebration of Margaret’s life was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Miller Christian Church. Burial will be held at a later date at the Miller Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller.
